Forum Birmingham announce Rudimental for New Year’s Eve

Forum Birmingham is to wrap up a landmark 2021 by hosting a New Year's Eve party with an exclusive DJ set from chart-topping multi-genre specialists Rudimental. This sure-to-be epic party will also feature a range of other special headliners to be announced nearer the time; tickets start from £15 at forumbirmingham.uk

The newly refurbished 3,500 capacity Forum Birmingham launched in monumental fashion on Friday 3rd September. This fully upgraded, multi-roomed club has really been put through its paces by red hot acts such as Mike Skinner and Netsky. The custom-built sound system delivered every single beat with power and clarity, the newly sprung dance floor was packed from the first beat to the last and the steel mezzanine was filled with smiling faces.

London drum and bass collective Rudimental have released on to Asylum Records, Atlantic Records and Black Butter Records since their album Home debuted at number one in the UK Albums Chart and was also nominated for a Mercury Music Prize. The collective always mixes up sounds and scenes old and new, from big pop hooks to driving basslines, and all of that gets distilled in their DJ sets. This reveals another facet of the band, allowing them to delve deep into their influences and serve up a whole new experience.

The renovation of the Forum Birmingham building, which in previous incarnations hosted performances by global superstars throughout the 1970s through to the 2000s including Bob Marley and The Wailers, The Ramones, The Clash, Nirvana, and Amy Winehouse, included restoration of the original woven wooden sprung dance floor, stripped back and newly polished concrete floors, a steel mezzanine and the installation of a highly-regarded d&b audiotechnik line array sound system.

As well as the main stage room, the venue also features Space 54, a second room with its own high spec light and sound offering. Cutting edge visuals throughout the venue have been provided by DMX Productions - the team behind stages at Glastonbury and Global Gathering amongst others - including high resolution LED screens, special FX and immersive lighting.

On the re-opening, Michael Kill, CEO of the Night Time Industries Association, said, “The club scene is a huge part of British culture and heritage spanning decades. We need to preserve it so that future generations can share the experience and pursue careers and opportunities within this sector for years to come. At the moment our clubs are fighting to survive during the pandemic, so it’s really inspirational that Forum Birmingham will reopen, saving a cultural institution in the city and giving the local industry a much-needed shot of confidence.”

Forum Birmingham is ready to kick on in 2022 and continue to add new colour, character and culture to its already vibrant home city. This essential and very special New Year's Eve party is the perfect way to usher in the next chapter. Tickets and more information; forumbirmingham.uk
