The Cocktail Club launches in Exeter at Former John Gandy’s site

The Cocktail Club is an all-new and stylish venue coming to the heart of Exeter. Taking over what used to be John Gandy’s Pub, the space has been utterly transformed by a full renovation and opens on Thursday 7th April with high octane mixologists, world-class cocktails and, from Saturday May 7th, an outrageous weekly Disco Drag Bottomless Brunch. Head to thecocktailclub.com for further information.

This city-centre spot is all set to become a bustling and vibrant place to kick back in style, sip on unbelievable cocktails and enjoy The Cocktail Club’s famous light-swinging entertainment. It is set across two floors with a beautiful bar on each level. There is a mezzanine overlooking the ground floor and capacity for 170 people so you can always be sure of a warm welcome and atmospheric vibe.

The stylish decor takes its cues from the art deco period, with deep blues and blacks, sleek geometric patterns and stylized designs with gleaming gold metal accents. It will be a swanky space downstairs and a more mischievous hang-out upstairs that is completely different from its previous incarnation as John Gandy’s Pub. The drinks offerings also bring bold and adventurous new cocktails to the city. They will be put together by The Cocktail Club's famously high energy and talented mixologists whose unique flair adds real theatre to every night out. Happy hour is every evening between 4-8 pm with 2-4-1 on all drinks except champagne. Those famous drinks include a mix of classic and contemporary cocktails such as pornstar or espresso martinis, reggae rum punches, long island ice teas, smoked collins, bullfrogs and plenty more mouth-watering treats.

Says JJ Goodman of The Cocktail Club, "We’re really excited for the launch of our first Cocktail Club in Devon. Gandy Street is a beautiful and creative alley full of history. Design-wise, we always look to create a space inspired by its surroundings, so we have built a front bar with a traditional feel in reclaimed parquet, with dark blue velvet and gold detailing to give it grandeur. Our first-floor private bar has a slightly darker and grungy feeling, with black leather seating and a rusted paint treatment that sets a demur but mischievous tone. We can’t wait to bring our world-class cocktails, mixologists and an unrivalled party atmosphere to Exeter.”

The Cocktail Club will be open seven nights a week and each evening will offer a signature mix of explosive atmospheres and big party sounds. Starting on Saturday 7th May and every Saturday thereafter is Disco Drag Brunch, a fabulously fun and out-there afternoon with an iconic drag host and bottomless prosecco and cocktails. The music is inspired by New York's famous Studio 54 with colourful disco sounds, crazy interactive party games, big prizes, wild glitter artists and plenty more cheeky surprises. You're encouraged to get dressed up for this one and really get into the spirit (pun intended.)

For an unforgettable night of good times and great drinks, there is nowhere better than The Cocktail Club. Head to thecocktailclub.com for more information.
